We will have the idea of fragility of the human condition symbolised in candles. These candles will be as old fashioned oil lamps which go up the side of the spiral from the bottom to the top of the island. These lamps slowly become extinguished by water and air as the couple slowly move to the top of the island.
This will mean that the atmosphere and ambience gets slowly darker and this will facilitate the need for a nice effect of a search light on the distant boat illuminating various scenes.
